Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance & Accounting team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting the month-end close, and strengthening accounting operations as we scale. This is a hands-on position with significant visibility across the business and offers a unique opportunity to grow into new areas as the company expands.
Responsibilities
- Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: Assist with monthly/quarterly close processes; prepare journal entries and reconciliations (cash, A/R, A/P, accruals, deferred revenue); and maintain the general ledger.
- Revenue & SaaS Support: Assist with subscription billing and revenue recognition (ASC 606); collaborate with FP&A and Billing teams on invoicing and collections; and review customer contracts.
- Accounts Payable & Vendor Management: Process vendor invoices with proper coding/approvals; assist with payment runs; and manage W-9 collection and 1099 preparation.
- Accounts Receivable & Cash: Support customer invoicing and cash application; maintain accurate aging schedules; and resolve billing inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Help refine accounting policies and participate in automation projects involving systems like NetSuite, Chargebee, and Brex.
- Audit, Compliance & Tax: Support annual financial audit requests and maintain organized compliance documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience (experience in SaaS or technology is a major plus).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals; familiarity with modern tools (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Chargebee, Bill.com, etc.); and intermediate Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-velocity environment.
- Knowledge: Exposure to ASC 606 or subscription revenue models is a significant advantage.
