Job Summary
Craftable is seeking a Sales Engineering Lead to build and scale the Sales Engineering function from the ground up. As the first hire in this role, you will serve as a hands-on technical expert during the sales cycle, while also laying the foundation for a scalable team and repeatable processes that drive customer confidence and internal alignment.
This role is perfect for a player-coach—someone who thrives in both customer-facing environments and internal operational structure, and who is excited to bridge the gap between Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
Responsibilities
-
Own and deliver tailored product demonstrations that clearly align Craftable’s capabilities with customer needs and use cases.
-
Translate technical functionality into business value for a variety of stakeholders—from operators to finance and IT leaders.
-
Serve as a trusted advisor during the sales cycle, supporting qualification, technical discovery, objection handling, and solution fit.
-
Translate prospect requirements into clear implementation-ready documentation for onboarding and Customer Success teams.
-
Ensure seamless handoffs of customer expectations, configuration notes, and custom needs post-sale.
-
Own the “solutioning record” within internal systems and ensure accuracy in handoff documentation and implementation planning.
-
Collect and document all product feedback, feature requests, and edge cases encountered during the sales process.
-
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to communicate feature gaps and prioritize enhancements.
-
Own the process for receiving new feature releases from Product, understanding their impact, and updating sales materials accordingly.
-
Lay the foundation for a scalable Sales Engineering team, including role definition, processes, onboarding documentation, and sales enablement materials.
-
Partner with Sales Leadership to identify hiring needs, develop training frameworks, and implement technical demo standards.
-
Establish a knowledge base and internal toolkit for technical enablement across Sales and GTM.
-
Act as the connective tissue between Sales, Product, Implementation, and Customer Success.
-
Bring a solution-oriented mindset to every conversation—ensuring the voice of the customer is represented early and often in product and delivery discussions.
Qualifications
-
5+ years in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Solution Architect role—ideally within a B2B SaaS or hospitality tech environment.
-
Proven ability to build, lead, or influence a Sales Engineering function or technical pre-sales motion.
-
Strong understanding of product demonstration strategy, technical discovery, and business process design.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you translate complexity into clarity.
-
Strong cross-functional collaboration instincts; comfortable working with Product, Dev, Finance, and Customer teams.
-
Experience documenting client requirements and facilitating clean post-sale transitions.
-
Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce), integration concepts (APIs), and technical solutioning processes.
Bonus Points
-
Deep familiarity with hospitality operations, inventory management, or accounting workflows.
-
Experience working with product-led growth or partner-integrated solutions (e.g., POS, ERP, payment platforms).
-
Prior startup or scale-up experience with a desire to build new playbooks and systems.
